As a Board Certified Holistic Health Practitioner I get asked what dietary theory I subscribe to. People are always surprised when I say I don’t advocate one specific theory- I preach bio individuality. One man’s poison could be another man’s medicine.
That’s why my program is individually tailored to YOU. Together, we will find the right foods, supplements and lifestyle choices to get you back to the healthiest version of yourself.
I created Healthier Notions because I am a firm believer that everyone deserves to live a healthy, happy, and abundant life. In our busy lives, we sometimes veer off the path of health. This doesn’t mean you are a failure and all hope is lost, it just means you need a little help getting back onto the right path.
And this is where I come in! You are not alone on this journey- I will be with you on every step of the way. Whether it be balancing your hormones, healing digestive stress, losing weight, or all of the above.
I received my initial training from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where I was trained in more than 100 dietary theories. I then studied women’s hormonal health at the Integrative Women’s Health Institute. I am board certified through the American Association of Drugless Practitioners and a KPJAYI authorized Ashtanga yoga teacher. Drawing on this knowledge, I will help you create a completely personalized health plan that suits your unique body, lifestyle, preferences, and goals.

A Little More About Health Coach Jenna:
Yoga is a HUGE part of my life! I practice Ashtanga so I am on the mat every morning, 6-days a week. I love plant-based cuisine and could drink my weight in cold-pressed green juice. I’m also pretty obsessed with anything peanut butter and chocolate, and you will find many recipes on my blog inspired by this lovely duo. My favorite musician is Andrew Bird and I’m a sucker for Americana music. I was born and raised in Texas, and have lived abroad in various countries including Indonesia, Honduras, Taiwan, and India. I’m currently based in Houston, Texas.
My relationship with food was not always pleasant. I used to be a chronic dieter, and my weight was constantly yo-yoing. My blood sugar levels and hormones were also suffering. But then one day something magical happened.
I STOPPED DIETING.
Thanks to the knowledge I learned at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and the practice of Ashtanga yoga, I developed a new, healthy relationship with food. My relationship changed from one of guilt and fear to one of knowledge, understanding, and gratitude.
This happened in three small steps:
- I started learning about all the food choices available.
- I experimented to see what foods worked best with my body, and ditched the diet books that generalize and preach that one diet fits all.
- I stopped being concerned with how much I ate, and instead focused on only eating REAL, WHOLE foods.
So no “fat-free”, “gluten-free” or “sugar-free” processed junk for this girl anymore! As Dr. Hyman says, “When you focus on what you eat, your body’s natural appetite control systems kick into gear and you eat less.”
In the long run, a diet has an end point, but a lifestyle doesn’t.
